Employee Spotlight - Joel Loveridge

We are excited to add another Soflink #EmployeeSpotlight blog by shining the light on our talented Customer Success - Support Manager, Joel Loveridge!

With a Master of Information Technology and over 12 years of experience working in the software and technology industry, Joel is nothing short of experienced. Formally a Softlink Support Analyst, Joel’s extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for Oliver v5 and LearnPath made him the perfect choice for this position.

Joel started his new customer-focused role in October, but he’s been an integral part of our Softlink team and various projects since 2016. He started with Softlink on the Support team assisting our Oliver v5 customers. In 2018, he became the LearnPath Solution Specialist, where he spoke to customers and used their feedback to guide the development of LearnPath. Since 2020, Joel has been an Education Consultant and Product Specialist where he has used his wealth of knowledge to ensure excellent product delivery for all Softlink services.

Joel is now coming back to his Support roots, leading the team as the Customer Success – Support Manager. It’s a very exciting time for our team where we are always striving to find new and better ways to assist our incredible Softlink customers!

Let’s get to know Joel!

What are you most excited about in this new position?

Working with our fantastic Oliver v5 support team again is the most exciting aspect of this role for me. I started at Softlink on the support team, so it feels good to have come full circle.

What has been your greatest achievement or most rewarding experience so far at Softlink?

I’m most proud of my achievements working on LearnPath. I’ve been heavily involved with LearnPath since its early days. Seeing how much it has evolved, and how the number of schools choosing LearnPath has grown over time has been so rewarding.

What do you enjoy most about working at Softlink?

The people I work with are great. I’m passionate about education and love working at a company with other people who share this passion and also want to produce software that supports schools.

What is your favourite book of all time?

It’s so difficult to choose just one, but all-time favourites are The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams or Shōgun by James Clavell.

Favourite place you have visited?

Lalibela, Ethiopia

Dream holiday destination?

I had a trip to Iceland and Scandinavia planned. For April 2020. Hopefully, soon I’ll get to go on that trip…

Are you a good cook? If so, what is your signature dish?

I love cooking! Since I got an outdoor pizza oven, my homemade pizzas are always crowd-pleasers.

Pineapple on pizza – Yes, or No?

Not usually, no. But I’m not a purist. I enjoy getting experimental and trying interesting new topping combinations.
