Reading lists in Oliver are a great way of curating resources for students and staff alike!

Whether it’s for class assignments, special events or suggested reading material, reading lists allow you to create a bank of resources for a specific purpose, enhancing the library experience for your borrowers.

Let’s dive in and take a look!

Support your student’s learning by adding resources into reading-lists for specific groups and assignments, allowing students to find age appropriate resources, specific to their needs, much more easily.

Newly created reading lists can be found from the OPAC search screen, be deployed in slider information boxes on the library news pages of both Oliver and Orbit as well as within LearnPath.

To create your first reading list, ensure you are logged in with administrator access on the OPAC search screen.

Locate the resources you wish to add and simply drag them into the basket at the top right of the screen.

Once you have all the resources you want, add items to a reading list using the drop down.  You can also create new reading lists from this screen.

Expiry date is useful for keeping reading lists for a set period of time, for example a reading list for a specific assignment can be set to expire at the end of term to avoid clutter.

You can add and remove resources from reading lists at a later date. Resources can be part of multiple reading lists at the same time, allowing you to create a hierarchy of reading lists and better organise your library resources.

Engage students and support teachers using reading lists in Oliver, the library management solution that grows with your students.
