These lecture-based sessions include the general ‘Getting Started’ (full day) and ‘Advanced’ courses, as well as more targeted sessions on ‘Cataloguing’, ‘Circulation’, ‘Serials’, ‘Acquisitions’ and 'Stocktake' (all half day). These sessions are held at a host venue, are delivered by one of our expert trainers and represent good value for money.

Suitable for new users.  Includes: navigation between menus, screens & records (including searching, sorting and basic reports) and the basics of cataloguing, circulaton and searching functions.


Setting up of cataloguing fields, SCIS imports, z-cataloguing, adding copies information, spine labels, weeding and archiving.


Setting up circulation fields, borrower maintenance, lending rules, circulation desk, loans, returns, renewals, reservations and overdue notices.

Advanced Oliver training with new features and homepage

Advanced Oliver: covers searching basic vs Advanced; search results; Orbit parameters including Pick and Click; Setting up and using Reading Lists, Changing Page Layouts and Book Reviews. Course duration 3 hours.

Softlink will highlight the latest features in Oliver and how to get the most out of them and making use of your Oliver homepage. Course duration 3 hours.
